Marriage RE:TREAT Reflections - Sanchez Family

Last weekend filled me up in ways I cannot express. 🥰 Honestly, it was the first time since the new year started, I felt like I could take a real, deep breathe and connect in ways where my mind wasn’t being pulled in a million directions. You see, we are in a season with a lot of moving pieces God is shifting all at the same time. Isn’t that so often how life works? 🤣 #canigetanamenI’m so thankful for last weekend, because not only were we given the opportunity to invest in our marriage, we were reminded in every season of the importance of putting each other first... before the kids, before our work, before we serve others and the list goes on. We were given the opportunity to hear real life stories from other couples who’ve felt called at a deeper level to love kids in the hard places of foster care and adoption. #thisisfostercare #preparation #communityThis year, in the midst of so much uncertainty and having to rely on God rather than ourselves minute by minute, God’s been repeating the phrase in this picture. The funny thing is this message was resounding in our family two years ago this same month when we went on a marriage retreat, and right as we took a bold leap of faith into a new season God was calling us into. #thishardcallingTaking time to not only get away, but to invest in our marriage, and invest in things that truly matter... is something I want to model for our boys, as one day they will mirror what they’ve watched us do. ❤️ And while we still don’t know where all the cards will land in this next season we’re shifting into because of much uncertainty and so many shifting pieces, we K N O W God is in the details. At the end of the day, I’d rather God write our story than us merely right our own out of a desire for comfort or an easy life. 🙌🏼
