Sera Griffin
Senior FAM Specialist
Sera, a Floridian since the age of five, grew up as the oldest of seven children from a multicultural family. In college she spent her summers teaching English and working with orphans in Cambodia, where she was first exposed to foster care. It was there the seeds were planted in her heart and over the years her journey in life would have her graduate from Southeastern University, work with local central Florida based non-profit, Feeding Children Everywhere, get married to her husband Jason, have two little boys, and actively serve and work with One Church.
A series of conversations led Sera and Jason to jump into the world of foster care, along with their young sons who were three and one at the time. They were introduced to Commission 127 in 2020 during a time where they were caring for 4 boys under the age of 5 and feeling completely overwhelmed. The care community that wrapped around their family brought the Griffins so much strength and encouragement that they decided to keep fostering even after a tough year. In January 2021, Sera joined the team as Church Support Specialist to help churches launch their own foster care ministries so they can be best equipped to care.
The Griffins have three wild and active little boys aged five, three and two. They have loved on four little ones during their time as foster parents, one of whom ended up becoming their youngest son and was adopted in April 2020. The Griffins continue to keep their home and hearts open as the Lord leads them.
